AI Hub is Now DSPM for AI
It appears to be out of Preview as well, and there's an eDiscovery change I noticed when exploring it.
Before we discuss this week’s topic, I shared on my blog last week that I’m one of the many people who have stopped using Twitter. I’m experimenting with a few alternatives, and if you are looking to do the same, you’ll find me here:
This weekend, I made it a point to do some testing around the eDiscovery of Copilot prompts and responses, mostly to answer questions about what I could see in the Activity Explorer in the AI Hub versus what I could collect with the eDiscovery tools.
How much has changed since I last poked around with Coiplot interactions and eDiscovery surprised me.
Like much of the M365 environment, I hadn’t kept up with all the changes!
First, it’s not called the AI Hub and appears to be out of Preview status.
I think AI Hub was more straightforward. DPSM for AI is a mouthful.
I quickly looked at the new tool and searched for any new documentation referencing it, but I came up empty. It seems similar to what I had seen before with the AI Hub. There’s just one question I’d love to get an answer to. When viewing Copilot activity in the Activity Explorer, I see this message about needing permissions:
I’m already a Global Admin in this tenant. What other permissions can I add?
This entry in the Activity Explorer did prompt my eDiscovery question. This entry is for an M365 user without a paid Copilot for M365 license. They are simply using BizChat as a logged-in user.
If this is hanging on to those prompts and response records, is M365 storing compliance records for non-licensed users and users with paid licenses?
I can’t find where I documented it, but I recall that those records only existed for licensed Copilot users in the past.
