When you see a new place to chat and wonder where that data lives

Maybe you’re normal, and you don’t see a new feature like chat inside of a Planner task and immediately wonder where that data lives and if it’s discoverable.

We all know by now that I’m not wired like that.

I saw it and had to test it. So, when I created a couple of messages in the task chat for a given Planner task, could I find them?

The short answer is yes. They exist in the Exchange mailbox substrate of the group where the plan is shared. The longer answer is that there might also be other data available if you @-mention another user, because that will create an email notification. This is similar to the email notification you would get when someone else assigns a task to you, versus when you assign it yourself.
