Microsoft Rolled Out Some New eDiscovery Features Over the Summer

Steps in the right direction.

Over the Summer months, Microsoft was busy rolling out some features to Purview eDiscovery Premium. This week I want to show you a few of them, and some thoughts on how they work.

There were three features in particular that I hadn’t spent very much time looking at, so this newsletter was my way of committing myself to spend some time with them.

Specifically, I wanted to learn more about

1. Upgrading Standard cases to Premium (MS Documentation)

2. Reports Tab (MS Documentation)

3. Tag Templates (Message Center Post)

If I can speak for the M365 eDiscovery folks out there, all of these have been a long time coming. I know I’ve heard requests for these kinds of features often, so it’s nice to see some of these things coming to fruition. None of them, in my opinion, are game-changing but they are steps in the right direction.
