What Happens When I Preserve a Declined Meeting in My Calendar?

It's a new feature from Microsoft, but what does it mean?

Generally speaking, the idea is that you can choose to have declined meeting invites remain on your calendar. It only works in the latest Outlook client and Web, but it’s an interesting feature.

For one, it’s interesting because why?

That was my first thought, but the more I thought about it, the more I could see where it could come in handy. How many times have I declined a meeting due to a conflict, had the other meeting canceled, and had to track down the invite I declined in my Deleted Items to find the meeting information I could now attend?

How many meetings do I miss, but I still want to go into the calendar in Teams and see the information shared during the meeting? Keeping it on my calendar is an easy way to do that.

On the other hand, my calendar is cluttered enough as it is. ;-)

Of course, the other question was how the eDiscovery Tools would handle these declined meetings.
